Question

Windows Domain User - Access Denied [9013]

asked on May 4, 2015

Hi,

New repository setup.  Added some Windows Security Groups, and set as Trusted authentication.  Added all Windows Users within the Windows Security Groups as Directory Named Users.  All Windows Users show up as 'Names Users and Devices' at bottom of Administration Console.  Have given particular Windows Security Group (Domain Admins) all Feature Rights and all Assigned Privileges.  Using ADMIN login, have given Domain Admins Access Rights to root repository directory, and inherited, so access to everything inside repository.

Can login to Administration Console with a Windows User Account (as part of the Domain Admins Group).

Attempt to Login to Client with same account, get Permission Denied. Access Denied. [9013]. If I add the Windows User Account, and set to 'Inherit authentication rights from group membership', I get the same, Access Denied.  I am forced to add the Windows User Account (although already a Directory Named User in Laserfiche through the Windows Security Group) and set Trusted Authentication.  Then I can log in successfully.
Seems like a bug, I can't think of any difference between Trusting the Windows Security Group and Trusting the specific Windows User (which forces me to add every Windows User...).

Note, Named User licence amount is not a problem, have a few spare always, and the number used doesn't increase when I add the specific Windows User manually.

Can anyone assist in something I might be missing please?

Are you using Rio?  Did you add the group as a rule in Rio as well?
