Question

Show access by user or group

asked on May 1, 2015

When viewing the access rights for a particular file or folder, it's easy to see who has access to that. Is there a way to see all the areas of a repository that a particular user or security group has access to, without having to go through it folder by folder? It'd be nice if you could simply select the user/group, right click, and select access rights to see where they've been granted access.

There is a program in the Laserfiche Code Library that can verify the access rights to multiple folders in the repository for Laserfiche! Check out this Answers post for more detail about the utility. You can also check out the Solution Exchange here for a more user friendly description.

Ashley, thank you for your response. In looking at that, it still seems to do it from a folder/file perspective, showing all rights for those items. I'm looking for something more from a user/groups perspective. Do you know if there's anything along those lines?

No, unfortunately we do not really have a utility that does something from a user/group perspective. You will still need to manually right click the folder to check access rights from that perspective. Hopefully the utility discussed in my previous response will help!
