ScanSnap iX500

asked on April 24, 2015

Anyone using the Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 scanner with success with Laserfiche?

I'm looking for a low cost desktop scanner.

Any suggestions?

We use a few here at the Town of Okotoks, and although they are definitely fast, they won't work directly with Laserfiche, and I've noticed recently that sometimes the scan quality can be lower (despite having a large file size).  For very basic day-to-day scan jobs, it does work pretty well, considering the price tag. :)

Says it doesnt support TWAIN, but I bet if you have import agent you can save to a network location and have things imported.

Might want to search for something else though if you want LF Scanning support. Unless someone can chime in saying WIA works for it and LF Scanning

We got one two years ago -- it doesn't work directly with LF.

Thanks for the information. I'm in search of a low price scanner for a local town government.

I'll keep on looking and checking back here.

Thomas,

You might consider Fujitsu fi6140z or fi-7160 scanner.

Are you planning on using them along with Quickfields or to Scan to network folder?

We set up our fujitsu scanners to scan to network folder as a multiple page tiff then we leverage quickfields agent to monitor that folder and scan the documents into laserfiche using a barcode.
