Question

Client 9.2 and opening up PDF Files

asked on April 23, 2015

So I'm using Forms to populate Form Fillable PDF's via Workflow.  However, I'm inconsistantly able to open the PDF's from within Laserfiche unless I chose to View using the Default Application.  However, if I do this, it doesn't allow the users to be able to "View" the PDF while viewing the metadata (in order to change template to kick off next trigger in workflow).  Is this a bug?

In the LF client, they should be able to view the metadata as well as the PDF, so long as the "View Electronic File Pane" has been clicked and highlighted.  I have had users experience this in the past.

Hey Daryl,

In Laserfiche 9.2 you should be able to open a PDF file using the Document Viewer (this the default option). This will open up the PDF file alongside the metadata and other panes you select. You should be able to see the PDF as well as change the template, field values, etc. In addition you can also edit the PDF document here as you would in another PDF reading application.

Let me know if this isn't working as intended.

Thanks

Sometimes this is and Acrobat issue. Make sure in Acrobat under preferences/Internet the box to Display PDF in browser is checked.
