Rename function throwing for the document which has name with special characters

Hi All,

LFDocument has special character(/) in the name of the file. We have to rename the file with appropriate value. But on save of the document its throwing error as - "Invalid Entry_name ".

After removing the special character from LF Client ,we are able to rename the document with no issues.

Can you please let me know how to rename a document/entry which has already special character in the old name.

Hey Ramakrishna,

I just tested in Laserfiche 9.2 and I was unable to recreate an error using "/". I can name documents, rename, move documents, etc.

I also tested, to create a Laserfiche Document with the "\" character. I was unable to create a document with this character.

Would you be able to explain the situation in more detail? How were the documents created, and what version of Laserfiche is this? Are you attempting to rename them with Workflow?

You might want to consider using Workflows Pattern Matching activity to take the entry name and capture all characters except for the special character.
