Question

Archiving Text Messages

asked on April 16, 2015

Hi All,

Is anyone familiar with the ability to archive text messages off of cell phones?

Cellular companies do not maintain these long-term, and they are technically a public record that needs to be archived. Is there a streamlined way to pull them off of a phone then import them into Laserfiche?

Thank you in Advance,

Garrett

Hi Garret,

This feature isn't currently available with Laserfiche Mobile, but I did pass the information along to the development team!

Hi Garret,

Would you describe a bit more for your case?

  1. How long will the message threads be normally?
  2. How many of your end users use this way to communicate with clients?
  3. What other ways are your end users communicating with clients, say, phone calls and emails? And are those all archived right now?
  4. What device (phone or tablet) and what OS (iOS, Android, or Windows) they are using?
  5. And for the the text message archiving, do you want to pull that off the phone only when the case is closed, or on a regular basis?

There're different ways to implement the feature for different OS and different use case. Please do let us know the case and we can plan that out for the future releases.
