Question

Scanning/storing in Webaccess = SLOW

asked on April 15, 2015

I have a client complaining that scanning into Laserfiche has slowed down in recent months. Their upload speed was 0.73MBPS. Storing 7 black and white pages from scanning took 10 MINUTES with OCR on standard. We have tried all the standard stuff like turning antivirus off. They have no firewall.

Two questions:

1. Have you had extra slow storing from scanning to WA? (Storing a pdf was 20-30 seconds)

2. What is a reasonable minimum upload speed to recommend? 2MBPS? 10MBPS? I know LF has not official recommendations but what have others experienced? This is a one user home office. Otherwise light internet use.

Is the issue machine specific or user specific? If you reboot the problem machine, login with a different windows/LF account, do you get the same slow behavior?

Are you storing immediately? How long does it take if you OCR first, then click Store?

What is the size (either physical size or pixel size) and the DPI (resolution) of the pages scanned?
