Laserfiche Sessions?

posted on April 6, 2015

Customer is complaining of the following:

"Workflows appears to be slowing down Laserfiche when it runs.  Between Workflows and Full Text Search, those two processes are responsble for 18 sessions at times running simultaneously.  This does not seem normal"

Workflow Server is same as Laserfiche Server...but is this normal or is there something I should be looking closer at in regards to the 8 sessions running simultaneously?

Thanks!

It is normal to see multiple sessions from both Workflow and the Full Text Search Engine.

What causes a new session to be created?

Workflow will create sessions as needed for the activities specified in the definitions. They time out when not used for a few minutes. Workflow is multi-threaded, so multiple connections per repository per CPU on the Workflow server are expected. They're not necessarily an indication of something going wrong or even the Workflow server being under load.

If you're trying to figure out the load on the Workflow Server, you want to look at a statistics report and compare the numbers there with the expected throughput.

There isn't enough information in your post about what it slow to make better troubleshooting suggestions.

@████████ if Workflow sessions are not getting closed, what would you look at to troubleshoot?
