Upload videos through mobile application

posted on April 2, 2015

Is there support to upload video files through the mobile application. Possibly through a third party file system like dropbox?

Hi Chad,

With the newest version of apps, you can add files from dropbox. Just use the Add button in repository and Add Files.

For now, we filtered out the video when uploading from phone gallery, but if that's something important for your case, would you help describe your case related to video a bit more?  And in future release we'll enable it and make it accommodate your use case as much as possible.  Thank you for the feedback!

And here're some questions we'd like to know of.

  • How often you need to upload video into the repository?
  • How long is the video normally?
  • What's the file extension of the video is?
  • Does it have to be captured real time or some video saved on your device?
  • And for the video uploaded, do you want to keep it HD as recorded or it's ok to down size a bit?
  • What other metatdata you normally need to store with the video, e.g. geo location, date time?
  • And do you need to replay or scream the video from your repository on the phone a lot?

Dropbox looks like it might work. I have sent over these questions to the customer to see if we can get some answers.
