Question

Forms - cant edit user's email addresses in account settings

asked on March 31, 2015 Show version history

Laserfiche Forms Version 9.2.0.853

When I try to edit user's account information in forms certain sections, like the email field, are blocked.  Moving my cursor over the field displays a red slash showing it's blocked from editing.  The user I'm logged in as is an admin in both the laserfiche client and forms.

How do I enable editing for user accounts in Forms?

It appears Forms pulls in email addresses from Active Directory without creating the following attribute: [Forms]E-mail

Windows user won't use [Forms]email attribute, and the attribute should have no effect even if it's added to the user in repository.

It's strange though that the input element does not appear to be disabled in your screenshot. And there should be domain name in the username.

What browser are you using? Is the input element not editable for name?

And for other windows users, is this issue the same? Do they have domain name?

You may ask your IT about it: the people that helps you creating this account.

I'm the IT but we dont have LDAP.

I created this Windows Account Named User from my computer only.

Sorry I'm not familiar with domain accounts. From my understanding, there would be a tool "Active Directory Administrative Center" where domain admin can create users and edit user's email. The email that Forms gets can be configured from that tool.

Can you post a new question about your environment, and describe how you created that account?

What kind of user are you trying to edit? Is it a Laserfiche Named User, Windows Account Named User, etc.?

It's a Windows Account Named User.

If it's a Windows Account Named User, then Forms should be pulling in the email address from AD if it exists.
