Question

Forms Configuration, how to manage which IIS application is being configured?

asked on March 30, 2015

In the event where there is more than one Forms application or the application name has changed, how do you switch between applications when entering the Forms configuration?

Hey Chad,

As I understand the question, you're asking that if you have multiple forms instances, how do you go to "Instance 1's config page" vs. "Instance 2's config page"?  Is that right?

If so, and if the instances of Forms are hosted on different servers, you should be able to modify the URL to direct you to one instance or the other (e.g.: secure/Formsconfig vs. Laservm/Formsconfig).

I am trying to see if I can have more than one forms on the same OS instance in order to save resources. Instead of 5 OS instances for 5 forms server we could reduce the instances down to 1. Each OS instance requires around 2GB of memory now, more maintenance as well.

If I'm understanding your question correctly, I don't believe that it's currently possible to set up multiple instances of Forms on the same machine.  While I haven't tested this explicitly, I believe that you'll end up getting to the installation screen asking you whether you'd like to modify or repair the prior installation instead of allowing you to create a separate instance.

If I missed the mark again, please don't hesitate to correct any assumptions I made.
