Question

Is it possible to hide/disable the Connector Configuration dialog box?

asked on March 27, 2015

Our client is using the Connector to perform searches in a third party database.  Their users log into one of four servers to access their application.  We have a script that launches the Connector before it launches the main application.  This works great.  However, the Connector Configuration launches every time the Connector opens giving end users the rights to delete the profile.  Is there a way to launch Connector without having the Configuration page launch as well?

Thanks!

Jen

Yes, you should be able to restrict delete rights to that location.

We're planning to release a maintenance update for Connector in the next month or so with initial fixes and usability updates. The issue with the Connector configuration page loading everytime will be in there - that wasn't intended behavior. I don't think there's a workaround for now though, unfortunately.

Thanks for the update, Justin.  Currently, the end users would be able to select Delete from the configuration page and delete the profile.  If we restricted permissions to the c:\program data\laserfiche\connector\profiles folder, could that at least prevent them from deleting until the release is finished?

Okay.  We'll give that a try.

Thanks!

Hi Justin,

We set the profile. xml file to read-only and this prevents the end users from deleting the profile.  This will work for us until the maintenance update is ready.

Thanks for your help,

Jen
