Question

Ability to split the page in Quick Fields

asked on March 26, 2015

I have a single page and would like to split the page into multiple pages in quick fields. I need to split wherever there is a horizontal line in the page. Is it possible to do this in quick fields please or do I need to use workflow? If so, do you have any examples of how to do it please?

Thanks,

Priya

Hi Priya,

As far as I know there is no out of the box functionality to do this. However I've seen it done before using an SDK script in workflow. That would be the path to go down.

Coding isn't something I'm familiar with but I'm sure there are members on here you can reach out to help you on this if needed.

Cheers! yes

Hi Priya,

It will search every page until it matches the value/expression you specified.

This would search all text on every page till it found the expression 4 digits in a row.

Hi Priya,

Are you trying to make 2 pages from the 1 page? Or does a line in the middle of the page indicate the start of a new document?

Yes, I am trying to  make 2 pages from 1 page. Yes, the line in the middle of the page indicates the start of a new document.

Thanks

If I am scanning in quick fields and trying to find the total amount in the document using pattern matching. The total amount might not be in page 1 as it may be in page 2 if the number of transactions are more. So, is there an option in quick fields to search for the  pattern in the whole document instead of first page please?

Thanks

Chris,

When we tried the approach that you had suggested, the pattern matching is looking for each pattern in all the pages. of the document. It is considering each page as separate and tries to find the pattern in that page. Is there a way that I can say that do the pattern matching once for the whole document instead of doing it for each page separately please?

Thanks,

Priya

Is the goal to end up with a list of values across all pages? If so, then you can use a Token Accumulator process on the Pattern Matching process to aggregate the values.

Thanks. Is there a way to attach multiple metadata to the same document please? If so do you do it using Workflow?

Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by multiple metadata. You can have fields with multiple values. That can be done in Quick Fields or Workflow or the Client/Web Access.

Thanks. If I have 2 transactions in a single page and I want to store the metadata for each transaction separately. How do I acheive that please?

Thanks

Laserfiche products don't currently have the ability to directly create multiple pages from a single image. But once you finish the script to do that from your other tread, you can use the extra image to create a separate document and set the metadata for it.
