Hello LF Community..

We know that for any field we can make it required.

Now, User still can use this option from the template name list (No template assigned) to add the new document without any templates which is the prohibited behavior..

So.. is there any way to prevent users from using (No template assigned) option?

Hello Mohamed,

You can easily conifgure Laserfiche Workflow to monitor the repository for all documents that are imported with the "No Template Assigned" option. When Workflow recognizes that a template-less document has been imported, you can choose many different routes to ensure that an appropriate template is assigned.

You can move the document to a "No template assigned" folder until a template has truly been assigned to the document
You can have Workflow delete the document and send an email to the user explaining why the document was deleted
You can have Workflow assign a "default" template that only has one field asking which template to place on the document

Thanks for your reply and these ideas surely can be used by workflow as we know.

So there is no way to prevent this option "No template assigned" for even some users using attributes or any other way ?

Hey Mohamed,

There's no direct way of preventing template-less documents from being imported, but there are many indirect ways of accomplishing this using our suite of products. For additional suggestions, please leave a summary of the goal you are trying to accomplish by preventing the upload of template-less documents and I can see what alternatives are available.
