Compatible scanner with Laserfiche: fujitsu scansnap

asked on March 25, 2015

I am currently working with a customer and they have replaced their scanner with a Fujitsu ScanSnap s1300i. I did check the list of scanners that Laserfiche recommends/reviewed and it was not on the list. This scanner does not use TWAIN drivers and wasn't being picked up by WIA when selecting it. Has anyone come across this type of scanner before? Worst case would be that user would have to scan to their machine or a network location and have Import Agent pick up the documents from that location.

As far as I know, the ScanSnap line from Fujitsu has never worked with any software other than the app it is packaged with.

AS Jim said, ScanSnap is not going to work for Laserfiche or other programs for that matter.  Most require at least TWAIN drivers in order to work.

ScanSnap Info

Here is a link as to why ScanSnap does not come with TWAIN drivers.  Essentially it was made for the "average consumer" who would not really need to utilize the ability to communicate between software applications and imaging devices.

use scansnap ix500, scan document, within the manager send it to print with snapshot..  not the best solution but works.

laserfiche needs to figure something out for this popular scanner models...
