Question

Flatbed accessory Is not supported with LF scanning

asked on March 24, 2015 Show version history

Hi,

One of our clients have kodak scanner i3400 and kodak A3 flatbed accessory and when they use scanning through laserfiche it doesn't show the flatbed option to select as paper source, the options are only:

  • Feeder
  • Feeder (duplex)
  • Automatic,

When they select automatic it doesn't do any thing just hanging up scanning, while other scanning software like Smart Touch there is option in paper source to select feeder, flatbed or automatic (which automatically switch to flatbed if no papers in feeder).

Can any one help in this issue?

What driver are they using?  As I recall, the Kodak tethered flatbeds did not have support in one of the drivers, but I don't remember if it was ISIS or Twain.  My gut is telling me that the flatbed is not supported under ISIS, but I am not positive.  What I do know is that I had a customer buy a Kodak with tethered flatbed and it was the worst experience with Kodak scanners ever for me.

While Laserfiche hasn't specifically tested this scanner model and flatbed accessory, we have tested tethered flatbed accessories from other manufacturers such as Canon. Drivers for the scanner as well as the flatbed need to be installed and Canon's flatbed driver does include ISIS support.

If you're still running into an issue after making sure the proper driver has been selected in Laserfiche Scanning (flatbed driver) and you are using the correct scan engine (Twain or ScanConnect aka ISIS) then please open a support case and we can investigate the matter.
