Hi All,
i have been advised to use the laserfiche save ribbon button.
However, we have only the option of :
saving as a new document
saving as a new version
we DONT have the option to overwrite the existing document.
Is this normal or not?

It sounds like the document is under version control and you want to save as a new version. For documents under version control there is no overwrite option because overwriting it will create a new version.
Hello Robert,
thanks for the response
However, the document is not under version control.
when using the save to laserfiche ribbon on office, we do not get the overwrite exsiting document.
why is it so
Hi Iqbal,
The option you are describing depends on the method you are using for saving. If you are using the Laserfiche Add-in for saving, then your option will look something like this:
If you double-clicked the file in Laserfiche in order to edit it, made changes and then tried to exit/close the file, then you would get a pop-up like this instead:
Depending on your access rights, you will have an option to overwrite the existing document.
However, if you use the first method I showed you above, you will not have the option to overwrite. That's the way it's been built.
I would recommend saving as a new version, which will then enable version control automatically on your document. This way, you can safely make changes to your document and still be able to revert back to older versions.

Sheldon
Hi Sheldon,
thanking you for your response.
However, we are getting some issues concerning changes not being saved to our document on laserfiche even though we have updated to latest patch.
We have been recommended here to use the save to laserfiche ribbon in office document instead of the floppy disk icon save.
However, when using the save to laserfiche ribbon, we don't get the overwrite option.
Since we do not version control all our documents, that is why i wondering why there is not the option of overwrite existing document from the save to laserfiche ribbon in office.
is this the default setting or there is something that we need to tweak to get this option.
