Question

Forms participant unable to login

asked on March 19, 2015

Have a forms participant enabled user.  Using LDAP integration.  User can authenticate to AD.  But is unable to log into forms portal.  Event log on server has error stating password is incorrect.  Have tried using AD username and email address that is in AD record.  It is the same email address that forms has listed as the username.

Hi Fay,

Can the user login to Laserfiche using the same credentials? The user must also be a named user in order to log into forms. You can check this in the Laserfiche admin console.

Also. Try logging into forms with the syntax DOMAIN\USERNAME rather than the email. See if that helps. When using the email you might find that it's USERNAME@DOMAIN.local rather than USERNAME@DOMAIN.com etc.

Good luck!

Forms 9.1 and higher has a forms participant license.  The participant license allow users who are not named Laserfiche users to participate in the forms process.    Participant users do not have to be AD nor Laserfiche named users. Participant users with AD accounts login with the email address in email rather than the AD username.

This issue was related to a specific Participant user. I created a new AD account and assigned it a Participant license and the issue does not exist for that account.

Ah cool. Didn't realise you were using participant licenses. (should of read your first post in more detail!)

Glad to see you got it sorted! smileyyes

I have a similar problem, any existing AD users assigned a Participant License can not login using their email as User Name and their AD password.  Even if they change/update their AD password.  What is the solution?

One of our users is facing similar issue. The user is unable to login into Forms using Forms Participant but can successfully login using the named user.

Any update will be greatly appreciated.
