I have a client that is setting up a client portal for their clients. They will upload PDF invoices to a current unpaid invoice folder. They want to have the workflow wait for an export function by the client. Once the system sees that export it would send and email to the CFO letting him know that they got the file. It would also route the shortcut to archived invoice folder.

So can Workflow have a wait condition on entry export? If not directly how else can I get it done?

The notification system does not support export events at this time.

The only way I could think of doing that would be outside of Laserfiche with your own website and a "download this" button that would also change a metadata field when it's completed.

Hi John -

By "Export", I am going to assume that you mean a user will be in Laserfiche, finishes a piece of work for one of your client's customers, and then wants to export as a file, or otherwise makes available, the document to the your client's Client (customer) Portal. (Further, it sounds like the customer portal is not the Laserfiche Public Portal, but something different.)

If that it is accurate, you could create a business process that does the export + the email. Exporting documents is not an approved task for workflow due to the time it takes, but we have done it via an SDK script. Then you can just tack the e-mail event on right after.

If that's not an accurate description, please outline the direction everything needs to move.
