Question

WebLink search form dynamic fields

asked on March 17, 2015

Is there a way to populate the values from the dynamic fields of a repository to the fields within a custom search form in WebLink?  I'm unable to get the dynamic field values to populate the fields within the search form.

Hello Nathan,

What version of WebLink are you using? There is not a currently a way to use dynamic fields in search forms, however there is template search in the version 9 release. This type of search does support dynamic fields.

Good Morning Kathryn,

The version of WebLink is 9.0.0.258.  Can you give me any info (or a link for more info) and the template search feature in WebLink 9?

Thanks in advance

The template search in WebLink is just like template search within  the Client, so dynamic fields will behave in the same way. The only downside to this method of searching is that it is more friendly for users who already know and understand Laserfiche metadata. If this search is meant for non-Laserfiche users, I suggest just making multiple search forms for the different options displayed by dynamic fields.

Is there anything published on configuring the WebLink Search Form Designer to use dynamic fields?

Thanks Kathryn,  I see now how WebLink handles dynamic fields.  I'll look into using multiple search forms for accomplishing what is needed for the dynamic field search.
