There are not, just the number of users. Please refer to the price list on the VAR site for a description of the differences.

Like Miruna mentioned, there is not a difference in terms of functionality, but the number of users that can simultaneously connect.

Starter - 10 concurrent users

Standard - 25 concurrent users

Midsized - 50 concurrent users

Unlimited - not limited by license but limited to a server with a single processor only. I am told, typically you can run 120-150 connections with little to no performance issues per processor.

Also note that there is a Web Distribution Portal available in Avante as well. The main difference it there are only 5 concurrent connections and they are restricted to the same security profile. Meaning they would all have the same view and access.

Are the portal licenses still based on number of cores?

Laserfiche Rio portal licenses are now based on the number of Laserfiche Servers that can be set up as public portals. Existing customers will need to manually upgrade though to avoid disrupting existing systems. See https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1013862/upgrading-to-a-laserfiche-rio-multiprocessor-public-portal-license-from-a-single-processor-or-dual-processor-license for more information. Laserfiche Avante portals are unchanged and are either based on number of concurrent users, or a single Laserfiche Server).
