Laserfiche Integration with Microsoft Office products - editing files

As a new user, when told that LF has full integration with MS products - great! I'm used to using an enterprise system that allows me to open a Word file, edit, close and the file is saved as a new version - all within the system.

Once the file is 'checked out', I edit the document but when I want to save it back into LF, the 'check in' options are greyed out and save to LF will only allow me to save as a new document.

I'm assuming this is not how it is supposed to work?

That sounds like you don't have right to modify the document. It will let you modify it to save somewhere else, but you need the modify contents entry access right on the document to actually save over the original one.
