Question

QuickFields & Workflow

asked on March 11, 2015

Hello,  I have a numeric field that needs to be 9 numbers long.  When scanning that field the numbers could be 6, 7 or 8 numbers and I need to add zero's at the front of the number to equal 9.  Is there way to do this?

Thank you in advance,

Jennifer

If you're using Quick Fields to scan and reading the value from the image with Zone OCR (or Barcode or OCR), then you can use token formatting to pad numbers with zeros: %(TokenName#"000000000"#).

Where does the value come from? Are you reading from the image at scan time or does the user type it in?

The value comes from the image.  It's prepopulated field that will be captured during the scan.

Thank you for your response.

HI,  I am using Quickfields version 8.1 and I don't know where I can find the token editor?  I tried using pattern matching and substitution however I don't think that is where I am suppose to go.  Could I please get more help?

Thank you!
