Question

Getting Unhandled exception when saving a word document

asked on March 11, 2015

note that we are on an VDI infrastructure with office 2013 64 bit version.

Is this an office error or laserfiche one?

Hi Iqbal,

Does this happen for all windows and LF users using the VDI?

Hi Iabal,

Errors that you can't reproduce are always the hardest to troubleshoot. I guess the first step would be to identify the steps taken in order to reproduce this. Is it something special in the word document that is causing this for example... Once you do some more digging it will help point you in the right direction. Unfortunately the error you are seeing is pretty generic, it may as well just say "It's broken". Would be just as helpful here.

Looking at the bigger picture, if it only happens for one windows user, chances are their VDI windows profile has some sort of corruption (I see this a lot). Please re-fresh the profile in this case.

If it happens to multiple users then their may be something wrong with the Office or Laserfiche deployment within the VDI base image. A re-install of office and LF could help here. Also check all the latest Office updates are applied.

The other possibility is that Laserfiche has a bug. In which case, first step is to upgrade to the latest version of Laserfiche and then start troubleshooting further from there.

Hope this helps point you in the right direction! yes
