Laserfiche Connector overlay icon location configuration

asked on March 6, 2015

I read in "BAS121: Coming Attractions in Laserfiche" that "you can manually edit the profile files to perform additional configurations, such as the location of the Connector overlay icon".

Please can someone provide instructions of how to edit Laserfiche Connector profile configuration XML files so tha I can configure the location of the Connector overlay icon for a given profile.

In the connection profile XML, at the top, you'll see something like this:

<AppDef pname="firefox" wclass="MozillaWindowClass" url="" woffset="-60,800,40,40">

woffset is the location of the icon. It's not there by default, you can add it. It is measured from the top right corner of the window. The first coordinate is the horizontal distance in pixels from the top right corner (negative numbers make the icon go to the left, positive numbers make the icon go off the window to the right), the next one is the vertical locations, the 3rd is the icon width and the last is the heigth.

It seems that you have to add the woffset setting in every profile that affects that same screen.  I can't seem to get control of that icon.  Does anyone else have additional information?

If you have multiple profiles impacting the same screen, the position and size of the last loaded profile (which should be the latest alphabetically) will take precedence.

That said, you should also be able to right click on the icon itself to move it, unless you disabled that as part of the profile creation process.
