Error Message: Failed to initialize the external table. [9409]

I'm getting an error when I attempt to use an external table. The error message isn't helping: Error Message: Failed to initialize the external table. [9409]

It's currently pointing to a SQL view, but as part of my troubleshooting I copied the data as a static table and I get the same error.

Can any one shed some light on this error?

Hi Matt,

You can successfully registered the external table, right? Can you check if you are able to View it?

And what data types are there in the external table?

I'm still not certain what causes this error, but when I dropped the timestamp column from the view it was resolved.

Actually it is the timestamp column that causes the issue. You can refer to the help guide here. In the Note section at the end of the page, it says:

Tables containing the data types "interval year to month," "interval day to second," "timestamp with time zone," and"timestamp with local time zone" cannot be registered with Laserfiche.
