Question

Potential conflict between devices Fujitsu FI-7160 & HP MFP M476nw

asked on February 27, 2015

I have a client that have a Fujitsu Scanner FI-7160 and a HP Color Laser Jet MFP M476nw attached to the same PC.  They are running LF 9.1.1.548 along with Workflow, without ScanConnect.

I am told that it seems like the Laserfiche system gets confused from time to time and almost locks up. When it comes back, they need to indicate that they want to use the 7160 as the scanner.   Removing the MFP is not an option, as the user needs to print.

Is there a location within Laserfiche Scanning beyond ‘Scan Source / Setup’ that would allow the default to be set?  Other options / ideas?

If they aren't going to use the MFP as a scanner, remover the scanner driver from the PC

Mick,

Are you using Scan Connect or Twain as your scan source? I assume you are using Twain since I don't believe the HP has ISIS drivers available. You might want to consider using LF Scan Connect with ISIS drivers for the Fujitsu scanner.  I can't promise that it would stop the lock ups but if that happened again when LF reopened, as long and it keep the scan source correctly (Scan Connect), then there would only really be one scanner that is hooked up with a driver for it to find.
