PDF Form Fill Activity removes editable fields

We need to be able to fill a PDF form with some data from Laserfiche through Workflow and then to be able to open that PDF from Laserfiche and edit more of the fillable form fields by hand afterward.

We have the Workflow populating the fields but the fields are no longer editable after workflow copies, fills and saves the document. How can I preserve the fillable fields?

The effect is the same whether I check the document out and try to edit it locally or open it from the Client.

The activity has an option to make the PDF uneditable. Did you turn that on by accident?

Once a PDF comes into Laserfiche it becomes uneditable. This is a property of Laserfiche designed to make the information permanent and therefore a secure document

You can make PDFs non-editable, but it is possible to leave them as fillable PDFs. You may be thinking of the images pages generated from a PDF, or the fact that you cannot edit PDFs using the Laserfiche Client Document Viewer.

We were able to preserve the editable fields by unchecking the making the filled fields permanent, and checking "Align field values" box on the advanced properties of the PDF Form Fill activity.
