Laserfiche connector Test Utility with Salesforce

asked on February 20, 2015 Show version history

I just downloaded the latest test utility.

As shown in screenshot, while using test utility, I get the field name but no value. Is there supposed to be next button there? After I close from here the connector button is not added. Haven't had luck to add connector button. tried with chrome and IE 9. With chrome, couldn't even get to this point. Screenshot is from IE.

Also when I try to download connector 9 I get 'access denied' message.

When you dragged the cross hair to the specific field, did you drag it to just the "Account Name" label by itself? Meaning, did the red selection rectangle just appear around "Account Name" by itself? If you drag the cross hair over to where it actually says "*Bmall Plan Library-TX-Transamerica Life..." is it able to select that specific field?

If you can provide a new screenshot showing the field that the cross hair is actually selecting (red selection rectangle), that would be helpful.

Also, the reason you can't download the full Laserfiche Connector application is because you currently aren't licensed for it. Please speak with your reseller if you have further questions about that.

One other thing to be aware of is that the Test Utility is simply a way to confirm that the Connector engine will be able to read from your desired application. It will not actually create the profile or add the button - the full licensed Laserfiche Connector is required for that.

To Alex's second item above, I wanted to add in that it is possible to use string manipulation to remove the [View Hierarchy] from the value before sending it along in your search string, so this wouldn't be a blocker in a scenario where that was your only option. As Alex notes, however, you can use the other value in this specific case.

Also, for this specific scenario where you want to search by account name, I would suggest using a different field in the Salesforce account page. See the screenshot below

If you select the actual account name under the "Account Detail" section, then it picks up the [View Hierarchy] text as well. That's why I'd recommend selecting the account name from the top of the page. Also, click here to see a short proof of concept video of the Laserfiche Connector functionality being demoed.
