Question

.lfe links not opening in mobile

asked on February 19, 2015

Has anyone else had this issue with .LFE links sent by email to a LF users not opening in Android 4..4.2 on Samsung? We can download the .lfe files and open with the Laserfiche App but clicking on the link (attachment) on the emails can't find the App? Tried two email clients (native & outlook) but no success.

Images attached for both mail client errors and image showing downloaded .lfe being available to open.

Any ideas or workarounds?

Thanks

This issue is fixed in Laserfiche Mobile for Android version 9.2.2. You should have seen an update for the app on your Android device, but if you didn't, you can just update to the latest version from the Google Play Store.

When will a fix be available for IOS devices?

For iOS devices, .lfe links from e-mails that were sent by Workflow will be opened as an xml file. It needs to be exported and then separately opened in Laserfiche Mobile.

I don't understand what you mean within your last post. I do not know what you mean by exporting.

A user is opening/reading an email within a mail client on an IOS device (IPhone/IPad) that was originally generated and sent by Workflow and has as an attachment a LFE (XML) file. The user's expectation is simply to touch/double-touch/open the file attachment and the relevant entry is opened within Laserfiche Mobile.

From the above context, I do not understand  what you mean by, i.e. how to export, the LFE/XML file.

Can you provide more information to clarify what you mean.

Many thanks, in anticipation.

See KB 1013521. Under the iOS App section, it states

If Workflow sends an email with a .lfe file attached, the attachment will open as an XML file. To open the attachment in Laserfiche Mobile, tap the Export button and select Open in Laserfiche. (115441)

This is not a trivial fix for the iOS environment so for now we're noting it as a known issue.

Has anyone else experienced this issue whereby .lfe links are visible and can be opened with the Gmail App on Android (Samsung 2015 device) running 5.0.1 and you cannot open them via the native email app nor the Outlook app? Is their a settings issue? The client runs MDM software and policies so is this the cause?

Any insight or direction would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi All,

Just a quick update on this, I have a client who receives .lfe links to their mobile (iPhone), but when they go to open the link, it does not open with the Laserfiche application installed?

Please advise?

Thanks

Ziad
