Question

Laserfiche Connector Installation for non-web based applications

asked on February 19, 2015

We have a customer that would like to integration with a non-web based application.  We have used the Test utility and found the results we expected.  They have four servers that host the third party application for their users.  Do we install the connector on the servers or on the individual workstations that need access?  If on servers, will one Connector license allow multiple installations?

Thanks,

Like the SDK, once you have Connector, you have it for all of your users. It's an add-on to your system.

You'll need to install it on each user's computer, but it's small and straightforward to set up. This page in the Connector help files describes how to push out both Connector and its profiles to client workstations.

The LF Connector is a client based integration that pulls data from an open application on the local desktop to either create and index a new document or search for existing documents.  As to licensing, someone from Laserfiche will have to address how it is licensed.

Thanks, Bert.  If I understand you correctly, we have to install it on all client workstations.  Could someone from Laserfiche answer the licensing question?
