Question

Editing fields in the form is very slow

asked on February 17, 2015

Hi,
I have around 500+ fields in my form.

I am trying to add/edit more fields and/or move fields from one collection to another.

But system takes a very long time to let you edit any field. It sometime says- <server> is not responding due to long running scripts.

What can we do to have the system let me edit the form faster. It is taking 2-3 mins to edit just one field.

Appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks.

Please contact your Laserfiche reseller to open a support case. We may need to investigate your form. Also, the upcoming Forms 9.2.1 release has some performance improvements pertaining to the editing of forms so this issue may be something that will be addressed shortly.

Hi,

Forms Edit page is in Angular which uses dirty check so it's hard to handle as many as 500 fields.

Our suggestion would be breaking that form into separate forms.

Hi,

Thanks for your recommendation. We had analyzed the option to break the form in separate forms. But we realized that it would not be the best solution for our situation.

I would appreciate if you can elaborate about 'dirty check' and recommend a way to handle these checks in better way.

Hi Manish,

the "dirty check" is handled by the framework we've been using so unfortunately the only solution we pop up would be to break your form.
