Question about Directory Server

asked on February 13, 2015

Will Directory Server allow Laserfiche users to authenticate?  I have been reading the 9.2 deployment guide and do not see any reference for Laserfiche users.

Hey John,

The Directory Server is the upgrade from License Manager for Laserfiche Rio 9.2. Here is where you can license applications as well as your domain users. See here for more information.

Using Directory Server, you need to create a LF Server license that contains Repository Named Users if you want to use Laserfiche users. Refer to the section on Repository Named Users in the Admin Guide.

Hi John.

If your question is specific to authenticating to Answers/Social BPM via the login page as a Laserfiche user account, then this feature is not yet supported. It is however something we hope to support in the future. At the moment you can only use domain accounts such as Active Directory user accounts or Novell eDirectory user accounts for these purposes.
