Question

Quick fields Agent hanged

asked on February 12, 2015

QF: 8.3.0.360

LF Server: 8.3.1.612

We have experienced this many times in last six months, where we have  a QF Agent setup to run a session and sometimes after running the session and processing all the documents in Laserfiche, QFA Agent hangs. We then have to restart the QFA service to fix this issue. In the start we though that it's not processing the documents and hangs but apparently it does process the documents and then hangs.

Is this a know issue with QFA?

As no answer received on this to-date, so I have asked our client to apply the latest hotfix KB1013165 and then test the system.

I have had this issue with a client once before and it was due to the amount of documents being processed. We set QF Agent to run more often and that seemed to correct the issue. I would however look into the event viewer on the server to see what error message is showing up.

That's what I can see in the event logs:

Faulting application name: Laserfiche.QuickFields.exe, version: 8.3.0.360, time stamp: 0x4fd6279d
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17651, time stamp: 0x4e211319

And some instance of these Errors:

Product: Laserfiche Quick Fields 8.3 -- Error 1706. An installation package for the product Laserfiche Quick Fields 8.3 cannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package 'Quick Fields 8.3.msi'.

Just to confirm, there is a known issue in QF 8.3:

"

  • Starting and stopping scans several times can crash the batch processor (86153).

"

Is this somehow related to the QF Agent, where it is scheduled to run more than once a day and this does involve the scanning/reading of documents by Quickfields Capture engine.

Ran a repair to no avail and I did not find any hotfixes. This occurs during the execution of session that is on the computer. We have not set up the QF Server at all.

Can anyone assist with this?

Hi - We are also getting these errors logged into event viewer for 10.3.1. Did you find any solution on this. any hot fix or something.

we have schedule to run every 30 mins and should it be any reason to worry due this error?
