We approach the problem OpenText's RMS system is solving a little bit differently. Documents that are inside of Laserfiche can have just about everything locked down--the ability to view, modify, print, export, etc. When documents need to be shared, tools such as WebLink allow companies to make them available without having to export them from Laserfiche, making sure that security is enforced and audit events are properly logged. When exporting documents, they can be kicked out as encrypted PDFs, ensuring that only parties with the password can view or modify the contents. OpenText's RMS system is a little more robust; it seems to lock down a large variety of electronic documents after they leave the ECM system. The press release is pretty vague. I'm not sure how effective their system is, but it's an interesting approach if nothing else. We don't have any plans at the moment to implement this sort of a system, but if this is something that your users would find useful, post a use case and we can direct this feature request to the development team.
