From looking at the documentation, it seems that Laserfiche Connector can return search results in the Client, Weblink or WebAccess. Is it necessary to have a Named User license reserved for use with the Laserfiche Connector?
Thanks,

I believe the idea is that users would log in using their own LF credentials when performing search or scan functions.
Hello,
even if it has been a long time since this Question was answered, I would like to ask about the specific case of using the Connector not to Search, Create or Scan, but just to call a third party application.
In this case the user doesn't need to read/write any information from/to Laserfiche Repository, but just to launch another application. Will this user still need a Laserfiche license to work?
In my case I have 150 data entry users working in a database application. I need that every time they finish inputting a new record in that Application, press on Connector to save the data and images in a shared folder. Then I will let LF Import Agent import the documents into Laserfiche, to make them available for the regular Laserfiche users.
In such scenario, do i still need 150 Connectors licenses, even if they do not read or write any Laserfiche data?
Thank you for your help and best regards,

Blake is correct. Connector is explicitly set up that it will license as the user running it. It's not a background agent scenario, so it doesn't need a reserved license. For desktop Client it will prompt or automatically login through windows authentication. For Web Access or WebLink you'll just get the normal login prompts for those products.
Justin just to clairfy, it does not matter how many LF users you have you only need one license for LF connector?
Thanks
John
Hi John,
No that's not quite the case. Think about what you do with Connector - generally, it is the user performing some operation such as searching within the repository. Whatever it is, the user themselves triggers the action. So, lets say it's a search action - the user launches Connector which will then launch the Laserfiche Windows or web clients, which then prompt the user for their credentials. Basically, any user using a Connector activity needs the credentials necessary to perform that activity. You can, I'll note, also search through Connector against WebLink, in which case the users could sign in through public portal credentials, so it doesn't always have to be full named user credentials - it's specifically whatever would be necessary to perform the action in the Connector profile.
