[Message] An existing destination directory must be specified

asked on February 5, 2015 Show version history

I'm getting the following message in the Event Viewer of Quick Fields Agent (8.3)  "An existing destination directory must be specified. (3)".  The QF session is on the same computer as Agent.  The session is currently using Universal Capture Engine to process the scan files from the c:\ of the same machine.  The session runs perfectly fine in QF (8.3).  When I looked up the error via Laserfiche (traditional) support site, it referenced the "Unidentified" documents.  I've configured the Unidentified Document Settings in the session based upon the Help document.  What now?

This has nothing to do with unidentified documents. The message may come up when Universal Capture is set to move the documents to some other folder after processing, aka the "destination" folder, and it does not have rights to see that folder.

When you run the session manually, it runs as your Windows user and has access to all the drives, local or mapped that you do (and see in Windows Explorer).

When Quick Fields Agent runs the session, it runs it as the service user, which by default is Local System. Additionally, services do not have access to mapped drives (unless specified in UNC path).

So check if the session is trying to move the files to some folder the service wouldn't have access to.
