Yes you can. To clarify, the Migration Utility will actually migrate the database to version 9.0. However, once you register the repository to the 9.2 Server, then it will complete the upgrade process.

Please see the note from this page that indicates

The source DBMS and the destination DBMS do not need to be the same type.

Hi Alex,

Can we also use the Migration tool to migrate from a V9.0 repository under Oracle to a V9.2 in SQL?  Customer wants to get away from Oracle to SQL

No, the migration utility cannot be used for that.

Hi Alex,

I have another question regarding the Migration tool. The product title says it's a migration tool for V6 or V7 to the latest version (Right now planning on upgrading to V10.1).

Does the source system must always be V6 or V7 to upgrade to a newer version using the migration tool?

My current Customer upgrade scenario is to migrate their Laserfiche Main repository V9 from Oracle DMBS and the new system will be using SQL server and upgrading to V10.1.

You mentionned in the original post that the migration tool will do the job in that case but in the previous question I asked, you mentionned that the migration tool will not do it from V9.0 to 9.2.

In this specific case LF V9 on Oracle to LF 10.1 on SQL, will the Migration tool do it?

No, the tool can't be used for that. The migration tool will take a v6 or v7 source repository database and migrate it to a v9 target database. The DBMS does not need to remain the same.

So what are the options for the scenario I just described, if I can't use the migration tool?
