When bringing in an .xlsl file, it displayed the error message “Error: Web Access is not properly configured to extract text from .xlsx document types” and seemed to hang indefinitely. So, I canceled out of that process, but the file had come in successfully anyway – it’s in the right folder with all of its content.

Is XLSX supported by web access, or how do I configure Laserfiche to extract text from these types of files? Does the Office plug in need to be installed?

The Microsoft Office ifilter (for xlsx) needs to be installed on the web server where Web Access is located. See this page for more information.

Does this mean that Office would have to be installed on the server? Or can the ifilter be installed without Office.

Microsoft Office does not need to be installed on the web server.

I have a similar issue, but for ".dwg" document types. These are files used by our Engineering department. What configuration should be made to allow these documents to be imported and the text extracted?
