Recover System Manager Password for Administration Console

posted on February 2, 2015

This box has an older version (7x) and somehow the administration console application was locked down with a password. So when you try to open it you get the below prompt. Does anyone know how to recover the password if it is lost?

I've had a similar issue recently.  But the company doesn't know which account is the system manager.  So the domain account we are logged in as since it is not the system manager in Admin Console we do not get the option to Change System Manager Password.

Is there any way to identify which domain accounts are listed as system managers?

See Reset system manager password.

But if you just need to get into the repository area of the Admin Consol, you should be able to cancle the Server Login and then select the repository node and provide user credentials.

Hi Chad,

1) In the Registry, select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Laserfiche\Engine\7.2
2) Modify the Admin Password and clear out the Value data.
3) Open the LF Admin Console; right click on your server and select All Tasks > Change System Manager Password
4) Leave the "Enter old password" field blank and type in a new password.
