I have been fighting inconstancy in my barcode reads in Quickfields for several years now. I get a misread error rate of over 10%. I have had presales look at my sessions and nothing could be added that reduced that misread rate. I have rebuilt sessions and tried things like scanning them into LF first and then processing. The pages are printed to a HP printer at 300Dpi and also scanned at 300Dpi on Kodak 4600 scanners. It happens at all 5 scanning stations. I have 4 barcodes on the page and they are as large as possible 12pt or above.
The actual question is...What is the best barcode to use in this case? Currently I am using barcode 3of9 and it worked fine for years in QF version 7 but no longer does. Is there a barcode that reads better if the scanner misses a bit on scan quality?

The most up-to-date list of barcode fonts that work with Quick Fields I can find is this:
- Code 39
- Code 128
- Codabar
- UPC-A
- UPC-E
- Interleaved 2 of 5
- EAN 8
- EAN 13
- PDF 417
- Datamatrix
Code 39 is the one I hear about most frequently, but you can try other fonts to see how they work. This page talks about what the various fonts can hold--looks like it could be helpful. I haven't heard of one being significantly superior to the others in Quick Fields however.
