Quickfields rotating documents randomly in upgrade from 8 to 8.3

asked on January 29, 2015

A client called in saying that after upgrading they are having some issues with documents having the wrong orientation. In one instance, out of 30 pages with landscape layour only two of them remained upright. All pages have similar format with all text in the landscape layout and barcode too.

Docs are tiffs

Auto-rotate uses the OCR engine's rotation recognition, which in turn looks at the text. If there are a lot of capital letters or logos, OCR is not always sure which way is up. Could you open a support case and attach some sample images?

Is this with the "auto-rotate" option? Do these pages have most all caps text?

Yes autorotate is on. There are some caps but looks pretty standard. Is it just the image recognition software?

Im having issues with the autorotate, each page has a barcode, and I need to rotate the page first to correctly read the barcode, but for some reason is not rotation. Any help?

Please don't post the same message twice.

Have you tried checking both horizontal and vertical directions in the barcode process' properties?
