Question

Instead of specify users in Assign to field of a User Task, Could I use the others variables? ( LF Forms 9.2)

asked on January 24, 2015

In the Assign to field, I can specify the users that will perform the task. when I type, a drop-down list will appear with the names of suggested users and groups and others field variables will also appear in the list of suggestions. Can I use the others field variables  such as name variable and then specify as a username for assigning a task?

If my user in a user task depend on some variable such as

Task 1 assign to User Group 1,

Task 2 assign to User Group 2,

Task 3 assign to User Group 3, and so on.. (with AD Group)

Is it possible to set assign to with different user which depend on some values?

(Assume that I can not know exactly how many group of user group and each user are not allowed to see  the others  forms except the form assign to him. Note that I assign the same form for them but different in some values)

Any suggest? Thank you.

You can use field variables to assign a user task. You have to make sure that the values of the fields are formatted correctly. For instance, if the user is a named user and you are using a Windows account, it has to be domain\username.

You currently cannot assign a group to a user task, but you can assign multiple users to a task at the same time. I hope that helps.
