Has anyone any experience with signing a contract and authenticating via an external certification authority?

A customer is using a non-Laserfiche product to present a contract. An end user reads it (hopefully) and ticks the "I accept" box. At that point, the contract gets a unique certificate appended to it.  The customer uses IOCS. Has anyone used this?
