I recently added one person to Access Rights with special privileges to create folders within his dept folders only. Then realized he could Move folders. Then realized if he moved a folder that was part of a WF watching that folder for activity, that WF would stop doing it's job!! I now want to protect any folders that are part of a WF process pointing at specific folder paths.
Using a test folder three levels down in his Dept folders, I removed "Inherit rights from parent..." and added a specific setting for this person that I hoped would block him from moving it. I have tried a whole bunch of settings, including Deny Create Folders, Delete Entry and Modify Contents; and nothing is working. He can still move this folder to any other folder within his department, but not out of his departments folders. With one exception: He cannot move the folder one level up (the parent folder?) which is where the Inherit rights was cut off from.
I also reviewed another LF Answers post titled "Move documents but not folders" where Alexander Huang posts, "As for applying this such that only documents get moved and not the actual folders that contain these documents, you'd just need to make sure that users don't have delete rights for the folders and that they don't have modify contents rights on the parent folder of these folders." This didn't work for me.
So, what am I doing wrong? Thx, Connie
