SDK Version Recommendation...

SDK
asked on January 15, 2015

I am getting ready to build a quick migration utility for a legacy Laserfiche 8.1 system.  The client is moving to a different ECM solution and has specific criteria for export format of documents and metadata.

The migration utility will require PDF document export and access to template data.  I am going to stick with LFSO for this utility but was wondering if I should build the utility with an older version of the SDK (my earliest version is 8.2) or am I going to be OK with using a much more current SDK, say LFSO 9.1?

My primary concern is running into any issues if I use a newer version of the SDK to connect to and export documents from a much older legacy repository.

Thoughts and recommendations?

The SDK is backwards compatible with the 8.1 server. As long as you're not trying to use features that are not available in the 8.1 server, you should be fine using 9.1.
