laserfiche unexpected shutdown

posted on January 13, 2015

I have an end user whose laserfiche shutdown after she updated some paper via laserfiche.

Any idea why this may have happened?

I don't have access to the admin tool.

What would be another alternative to correct this problem, other than uninstall/reinstall.

Thank You

If it is a corrupted profile, you will need access to the Admin console. An uninstall/reinstall may not fix it without resetting the other items as well.

So I am only deleting this whole line

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Laserfiche\Client8\Profile in the registry and nothing else from the registry, correct?

Thank You

It is probably a corrupted profile. Please go through the following steps:

1. Make sure the problem user is not logged into LF on any other machine.
2. Once the client is closed and the user is no longer logged in, open the LF Admin Console while logged in as Administrator on the LF Server.
3. Go to -> Users and Groups -> User > Problem User Properties -> Attributes Tab -> Check Show System Attributes -> Delete ALL Attributes.
4. Once deleted from the LF admin console go to the problem machine and delete the LF Profile registry key on the problem machine while logged into windows as the problem user. Do not log in to the LF client yet
5. On the problem machine, go to Start -> Run -> Regedt32-> and Delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Laserfiche\Client8\Profile

Test after.

Hi Raymond, it is user specific. Not affecting any other user or machine.

Is the issue machine and/or user specific?  Does it affect all the machines using Laserfiche?  If you reboot the machine and login with a different windows/LF login, do you get the same behavior on the machine?

Yes that is correct.

When you say her Laserfiche shutdown, do you mean her Laserfiche client installed on her computer?
