Question

Event Type 34 "View Document"

asked on January 12, 2015

Hi all

We have one user account in particular where the Audit Log doesn't appear to the capturing the View Document event (34). I've checked the effective audit permissions on his account nd all looks well.

Does the View Document event fire if only the meta data is viewed and modified? This would be in the case case of the user actioning the respective document via right click of the document and setting the meta data directly.

Thanks

As I recall, View Document only records views of the pages or electronic file portions of a document.  Opening just the metadata view (without the document viewer) would not fall into either of those categories.

Just opening and closing the document should log the event. Has this user closed all sessions and logged out and back into Laserfiche since you turned on auditing for this event?

Hi Guys

Never subscribed to my own post! Anyway it turned out to be a non-issue. Reporting team made a boo-boo when collating the details from the Audit Trail!

Thanks for coming back.
