Scanning issues with black borders

asked on January 9, 2015

Hi,

I have colleagues working to scan in a large number of physical records into our database. They are using Fujitsu fi-7160 scanners (with TWAIN) to scan in letter sized documents. They are using letter size on the paper options from Laserfiche Scanning, but a black border is being produced around the edges of the page when it shows up in Laserfiche Scanning preview.

We have tried various methods of reducing the black border, such as border removal, but the borders appear sporadically. I have made sure that the guides fit each sheet, but there are still borders.

Any help, suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi David,

Are you using the latest PaperStream IP TWAIN driver from 11/26/2014? If you scan outside of Laserfiche (i.e. using the PaperStream capture software) does the same issue occur? Does the resolution at which scanning is being done matter?

Regards

Hi Alexander,

Sorry for the late reply, but I did not get a notification that there was a response. We appear to be running the TWAIN drivers from 2013, because that is what was bundled with our scanners. I will update the driver(s) to the most recent version and let you know if there are still issues.

Thanks!
