Question

Unknown display engine error. [6608]

asked on January 2, 2015

I'm trying to use the Import Agent for the first time so I made the most simple .lst that I could think of but I can't get it to import anything.

LASERFICHE IMPORT LIST

DOCUMENT(Sample 1)
STARTLIST
C:\LaserFiche\TestImport\Test.pdf
ENDLIST

The event viewer yield events that are not very specific: "There was an error executing the profile Test Agenda while importing the file "C:\LaserFiche\TestImport\test.lst". (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80041929) (6441)"

I then tried to drag the .lst file directly into LaserFiche and it looks like it is going to work but then when I click "OK" to confirm creation of the document I get an "Unknown display engine error."

For the benefit of other readers. The 9013 issue in this case was caused by an un-configured repository - 9013 is access denied.  The account that Import Agent was using for the profile did not have rights to the new repository.  Once named users was configured and access rights were set, the Import Agent worked.

Hi Mike,

It seems that the syntax was invalid. When importing electronic document, you should use 'ELECTRONIC' directive like below.

LASERFICHE IMPORT LIST
ELECTRONIC(C:\LaserFiche\TestImport\Test.pdf, Sample 1)

Hope that helps.

Thanks. The syntax was wrong. When I made the change that you suggested, I was able to import the file by dragging and dropping.

The import agent is still failing to import the file, however. There are two events that coincide with the failed imports:

There was an error importing the list file "C:\LaserFiche\TestImport\test.lst" while executing the profile Test Agenda. (9013
, Exception from HRESULT: 0x80041929)

There was an error executing the profile Test Agenda while importing the file "C:\LaserFiche\TestImport\test.lst". (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80041929) (6441)

Any ideas as to what is happening here?

Was this working before?

Was Import Agent upgraded recently or was anything else upgraded recently?

Nope. This was a new install  of version 9.

Please have your VAR open a case with Support so we can explore the matter further.

In the case that was opened, you were asked to check the named user configuration as well as check access rights to the repository.  I take it that fixing those resolved this issue? If so, please mark the thread as answered.

Thanks.
